Legacy Leaders

Legacy Leaders Program Overview

The Legacy Leaders program is a four-year leadership development experience housed within the Scholar Programs Department at Texas Woman’s University. Designed for students who demonstrated strong leadership in high school, the program equips scholars to grow as Pioneers of Influence — leaders who make meaningful contributions on campus, in their communities, and in their future careers.

Legacy Leaders participate in a structured, cohort-based experience that includes:

  • A personalized leadership development pathway
  • Peer mentorship during the first year
  • Enrollment in UNIV 1231 with fellow scholars
  • Participation in the Scholar Living Learning Community (LLC)
  • Active involvement in both the Legacy Leaders and Scholar Programs Student Organizations
  • Leadership workshops, networking opportunities, service engagement, and professional development experiences

Through these intentional experiences, scholars strengthen their leadership skills, expand their networks, and prepare to take on meaningful leadership roles throughout their time at TWU and beyond.

Scholarship Award

An $11,000 annual scholarship is awarded to Legacy Leaders and is renewable for up to four years.

This scholarship may be combined with other Texas Woman’s University scholarships, academic department awards, and federal aid up to the student’s Cost of Attendance.

Students must meet both academic and program participation requirements for annual renewal.
