Lavon B. Fulwiler Endowed Scholarship (ESFL)
The Lavon B. Fulwiler Endowed Scholarship was established in honor of Dr. Lavon B. Fulwiler for students whose majors are within the Department of English, Speech, and Foreign Languages. The recipient may be either (1) a graduate student majoring in English enrolled in TWU at the time the scholarship is granted with preference given to the student who is specializing in Middle English literature or English Romantic literature or (2) a junior or a senior English major who has manifested superior ability and achievement in the field of English. The recipient of this award should have completed at least one full semester or one full summer session (two consecutive summer terms of study) and a minimum of nine semester hours of credit at TWU the semester before the scholarship is awarded. In addition to maintaining an overall GPA of 3.0, the recipient(s) should have maintained a GPA of 3.5 in all English courses. Submission of a paper in the appropriate field is required.
