Dr. Sophie Lin Rydin Endowment for Occupational Therapy - TWU Houston Center
The purpose of the Dr. Sophie Lin Rydin Endowed Scholarship is to honor the life of Dr. Sophie Lin Rydin by continually providing Dr. Rydin type-experiences to students and to help students navigate their lives and professions in the way Dr. Sophie would have helped them. The Dr. Sophie Lin Rydin Endowed Scholarship was established to provide a stream of income to support scholarships for full-time graduate students in the University’s School of Occupational Therapy – Houston Center. Selection of recipients will be made by the University Scholarship Committee or its designee based on the following criteria and application.
• Application Dates – Opens July 1, Closes March 15
• Awarding Department – Rydin School of Occupational Therapy – Houston Center
• Department Contact –
• Level – Graduate
• Classification – Master’s, Doctoral
• Major – Occupational Therapy
• Minimum Cumulative GPA – 3.0 or higher
• Minimum Enrollment Requirement – full-time in a graduate program housed in the University’s school of Occupational Therapy – Houston Center
• Minimum Total Credit Hours Earned – Any
• Renewability – Scholarships may be renewed annually for up to three years, provided the recipient continues to meet the required criteria, and reapplies each year submitting an essay on accomplishments during the previous year. (See criteria above)
• FAFSA – Financial need may be considered but is not required.
• Other – Must submit, as part of the application process, a 500 word essay describing one or more accomplishments or actions that Dr. Sophie Rydin would be proud of and why.
