The Dieb-McDavid Annual Scholarship
The McDavid Scholarships will provide funding for at least five (5) Denton High School graduates who demonstrate a commitment to women’s leadership and plan to enroll at Texas Woman’s University. The selected McDavid Scholars will receive a combination of aid to full funding covering tuition and fees for up to four years.
• Achieve at least a 3.0 GPA and rank in the top 50% of the class (and)
• Demonstrate a financial need according to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
To retain this scholarship for future semesters, a student must:
• Enroll as a full-time TWU student each fall and spring—typically 12 semester credit hours.
• Complete at least 67 percent of enrolled classes each semester and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
• Maintain consecutive enrollment (up to 8 semesters) through degree completion.
• Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the McDavid Scholarship Program manager.
• Attend McDavid Scholars donor-related events.
McDavid Scholarship Additional Services
In addition to financial support, The McDavid Scholars will have access to a McDavid Scholarship Manager from TWU to serve as a leader and mentor to help students navigate the financial aid process, assist with academic support services, provide access to study skills training, and monitor the scholars’ academic progress from year one through graduation. Students will meet with the McDavid Scholarship Manager throughout each academic year.
During the fall semester, the McDavid Scholars with their families will attend a luncheon or dinner hosted by the McDavid family, and the event may include an opportunity to learn more about TWU alumna and current Regent Stacie McDavid.
