Dr. Marilyn Hinson Scholarship Endowment in Kinesiology

This scholarship was created by Dr. Luella Lilly to honor the life of Dr. Marilyn Hinson, her mentor. Dr. Marilyn Hinson joined Texas Woman’s University in1970 as a physical education professor. She was appointed as the Dean ad Interim of the College of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance in 1978, becoming the Dean a year later. In 1980, Dr. Hinson served as the Provost of the General Division at TWU and was appointed in 1982 as the Director of Admissions and Registrar of TWU. After retiring in 1992, Dr. Hinson passed away in January 2005 in Arkansas. The recipient will show professional promise as demonstrated through their efforts in the classroom and information provided in the scholarship application.
