Legacy Leaders

The Legacy Leaders program is a multi-year and multi-level leadership and experiential learning program. While in the program, students will be able to design a personalized leadership plan that will help them identify their strengths. In addition, by participating in the Legacy Leaders Program, scholars will develop the skills and competencies that will equip them to serve in leadership and executive roles on campus, in the community, and in their careers. Legacy Leaders will participate in a host of programs and opportunities that will expand their knowledge and networks and give them an opportunity to give back.

An $11,000 scholarship is awarded to Legacy Leaders and is renewable for up to four years. This scholarship cannot be combined with any other Texas Woman’s University scholarship, but may be combined with academic department awards or federal aid. Students must meet both academic and participatory requirements for scholarship renewal.

Eligibility Requirement
• Acceptance to TWU as a full-time entering fist year student
• Strong academic ability – Minimum 3.25 GPA
• Demonstrated ability to lead in your high school or community
• Successful completion of an interview
• Evidence of showing initiative
• Commitment to giving back
• Interest in serving in a leadership/executive level position
• Pell Grant eligibility is preferred, but not required
• Students are reviewed holistically. Factors including academic achievement, leadership ability and involvement will be considered.
