Dorothy & Wendall Mayes Endowed Scholarship

The Dorothy and Wendell Mayes Endowed Scholarship was established through the TWU Foundation by Jane Ellen Jamar Fain and Wendell Mayes, Jr., in memory of their parents. Mrs. Mayes attended the College of Industrial Arts, now Texas Woman’s University. Wendell Mayes Sr. was a member and former chairman of the TWU Board of Regents. Provide a stream of income to support scholarships for one or more graduates of Brownwood High School in Brownwood, TX. If in a year no Brownwood High School graduate qualifies for the scholarship, then Student(s) must be a graduate of a Texas high school with first preference being given to graduates of high schools located in the Texas cities of Brownwood, Austin or San Antonio. Student( s) must be enrolled full-time on any TWU campus. Student(s) must have earned at least a 3.0 GPA or equivalent on all high school coursework. Financial need may be considered but is not required to receive the scholarship.
