Impact
The Neva Cochran Endowed Scholarship in Nutrition supports graduate students enrolled in the Dietetic Internship Program in the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences at Texas Woman’s University. By easing financial pressures, the scholarship allows students to concentrate on the demanding coursework and clinical experiences required to become registered dietitian nutritionists.
This endowment not only provides assistance but also reinforces the importance of communication in dietetics. Applicants are asked to reflect on how nutrition professionals can effectively share the role of modern agriculture and the food industry in providing a safe and nutrient-rich food supply. In doing so, the scholarship prepares future dietitians to serve as both health experts and advocates for food and nutrition.
Through the generosity behind this endowment, students gain the resources and encouragement they need to succeed academically and professionally. The impact extends beyond the recipients, as each scholar carries forward the skills and inspiration to improve lives, advance health, and strengthen the future of the dietetics profession.
