Kathleen Bradbury '71, '72)
Kathleen Bradbury, who earned her bachelor’s degree (1971) and master’s degree (1972) in library science from TWU, has generously created a scholarship endowment to honor her brother, Edward George, and his extraordinary achievements in nursing. Edward George’s path to nursing was characterized by resilience, determination, and passion. Although he initially aimed to become an elementary school teacher, he discovered his true calling in nursing through a series of fortunate events. Encouraged by a neighbor, he began his healthcare career as an orderly, later advancing to vocational nursing and eventually becoming a clinical educator and specialist in apheresis.
Edward’s story highlights the transformative power of education and the significant impact of following one’s true passion. His unwavering dedication to nursing and commitment to excellence continue to inspire aspiring nurses.
The scholarship endowment established in Edward’s honor aims to support and empower future generations of nursing students at TWU. Through this endowment, Kathleen hopes to provide financial assistance to deserving students who exhibit the same determination, resilience, and passion for nursing that defined her brother’s remarkable career.
