Dr. Sandy Sook and Mr. Perry Sook, Sook Family Foundation

Sandy earned her Ph.D. in Rhetoric from TWU in 2015. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master of Education in both Middle School Education and in Talented and Gifted Education from Ohio University. Perry Sook also graduated from Ohio University and he has served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nexstar since its inception in 1996. Sandy was a student of Dr. Phyllis Bridges during her time at TWU. She encouraged her and became a mentor and friend. The family created the Dr. Phyllis J. Bridges Arts and Sciences Endowed Scholarship will benefit students pursuing a degree in Dance, Drama, English, History, Multicultural Women’s and Gender Studies, Music, Political Science, Social Work, or Visual Arts.
