Dr. Helen Ridgway

Alumna Mary E. Ridgway, PhD ’71, ’74 has established a third scholarship endowment. The latest is in tribute to her sister, Dr. Helen Ridgway, who earned her master’s and doctorate at Baylor Research (now Baylor Scott & White Research Institute) and was a biochemist at Wadley Institute of Molecular Medicine for 32 years. As Chief of Chemistry and Head of Research, she traveled extensively presenting to the international research community. Following her tenure at Wadley, Dr. Ridgway served for 22 years as Head of Research and Development at Helena Laboratories. The endowment will support students pursuing their Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with an American Chemical Society certification. Ridgway’s generosity to her alma mater is leaving a lasting impact and inspiring future professionals and scholars.
