Dr. Derek Crews

Dr. Derek Crews is a Professor of Management at Texas Woman’s University, and a workforce development consultant. Dr. Crews earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Administration at the University of North Texas, and his doctorate in Business Education at Nova Southeastern University. He is a certified Master Trainer for AchieveGlobal and Development Dimensions International, and is a certified trainer for Extended DISC.
He has published numerous articles in academic journals and has authored two textbooks, Mastering Human Resource Management and Principles of Talent Development, both published by FlatWorld. The TWU College of Business has adopted both textbooks for use in the classroom. Mastering Human Resource Management is used in the undergraduate course MGT 3273 (Human Resource Management) and Principles of Talent Development is used in the graduate course MGT 5633 (Principles of Talent Development). The purpose of this scholarship is to enable Dr. Crews to donate all royalties earned from TWU courses, and to use these funds to provide scholarships to outstanding students who demonstrate academic excellence and commitment to the HR profession through involvement with TWU’s student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (TWU SHRM).
