Caryl E. and Larry W. Mobley

Caryl E. and Larry W. Mobley, professionals with strong ties to Texas Woman’s University (TWU), have graciously created a scholarship endowment at the institution. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Caryl pursued a remarkable nursing career, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duke University and her Master of Science in Nursing in Maternal-Child Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her academic journey led her to Texas, where she completed her PhD at the University of Texas at Dallas, specializing in Human Development and Communication Sciences. She went on to teach. Caryl’s tenure at TWU, spanning from Assistant Professor to Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator until her retirement in 2009, showcased her dedication to education.

Larry, hailing from North Carolina, achieved success in engineering and manufacturing management after graduating from Duke University. His professional journey included roles at notable companies such as Duke Power Company, NCR, and Oracle Corporation, where he retired in 2010. Throughout their careers, both Caryl and Larry remained actively engaged in community and church endeavors.

Now residing in the North Carolina mountains, the couple continues their commitment to education through their establishment of a scholarship endowment at TWU. This endowment ensures that forthcoming generations of students have the opportunity to pursue quality education, reflecting the Mobleys’ enduring legacy of giving back.
