Bettejoe Rogers Pendleton

Bettejoe Rogers Pendleton was born in 1937 in Caddo, Texas to Joe and Bernice Peters Rogers. She graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Studies and later win a Master of Arts in Health Studies in 1962. During her time at TWU, Bettejoe was involved in a variety of sports from hockey and volleyball to folk dancing and synchronized swimming. Her great love of sports and her deep affection for TWU led her to bequeath a generous contribution to the university upon her death and the Bettejoe Rogers Pendleton Athletics Scholarship Endowment Fund was created. The purpose of the Fund is to create a stream of income for scholarships for TWU student-athletes and former TWU student-athletes.

Her husband Donald T. Pendleton of Caddo also created an endowment in his will in memory of and to honor Bettejoe showing the strong sense of philanthropy shared by both husband and wife who were ranchers throughout their lives together.
